The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) of Ukraine has added the Indian diamond manufacturing and export company Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK) to its list of “war sponsors,” according to the agency’s statement.

The inclusion of SRK in the NAPC list was explained by the fact that the company continues to purchase diamonds from Russia, despite sanctions in this area. According to the Ukrainian department, compared to 2021, this year it has tripled the purchase of Russian diamonds.

“India produces 95% of the world’s diamonds. Approximately three-quarters of diamonds come from Russia, but no official documents are added to them that could confirm their origin,” NAPC said in a statement.

The Ukrainian agency alleges that SRK “entered into ‘secret deals’ to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars worth of gemstones” after the Russian manufacturer “Alrosa“came under sanctions.

NAPC regularly adds to the list of “war sponsors.” September 1st on it hit American companies PepsiCo and Mars. The decision to include companies in the NAPC list was explained by the fact that they continue to do business in Russia and support its economy by paying significant taxes. Previously, the list included the British corporation Unilever and a number of Chinese companies, including the Alibaba group.
