The UK has expanded the sanctions list for Russia and added 15 new positions to it, the press service of the Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry reports.
The restrictions included, in particular, Boris Titov, authorized under the President of Russia to protect the rights of entrepreneurs, the owner of the Regnum agency, Sergey Rudnov, the owner of Aerostart, Viktor Myachin, the chairman of the board of directors of the R-Pharm group of companies, Alexei Repik, a shareholder of Rossiya Bank and National Media Group Svetlana Krivonogikh, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of OAO System Operator of the Unified Energy System Evgeny Shkolov.
The UK has also imposed sanctions on Russian defense companies, including RT-komplekt, Oboronlogistics, Universalmash, Topaz, and Russian drone developer ZALA Aero.
On January 12, the Russian Foreign Ministry added 36 members of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of law enforcement agencies and the journalistic corps of the United Kingdom to the “stop list”. This decision was made due to the anti-Russian course of the British government, the department explained. They pointed to the use by the British authorities of personal sanctions against citizens of the Russian Federation, as well as the policy of discrediting the Russian Federation and isolating the country in the international arena.
In particular, the Foreign Ministry noted that London, together with Washington, is inciting Russophobia, and is also spreading false information about Russia. Such actions will not remain without an adequate response, the ministry said. They also warned that supporting the neo-Nazi Kyiv regime “will cost dearly” to the West.
