Athletes from the Surgut region brought gold and silver medals from the championship.
Master of Sports of Russia Natalya Ilyina won three gold medals in the 59 kg weight category in the clean and jerk, in the snatch and in the combined total. Her result was 182 kg.
Master of Sports of Russia Murat Abaev in the 109 kg weight category received two gold medals in the snatch and combined total, and a bronze medal in the clean and jerk. His result in the biathlon was 362 kg.
The third place in the clean and jerk with a result of 102 kg in the weight category of 64 kg was taken by Lana Dzhatieva, another result of the athlete was the fourth place in the combined event with a result of 180 kg (snatch 78 kg).
“According to the results of the team event, the Ugra team among juniors took the sixth place out of 36 subjects of the Russian Federation, the Ugra team among juniors also took the sixth place out of 46 subjects of the Russian Federation,” said Albert Kirillov, head of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Surgut District Administration.
The championship of Russia in weightlifting among juniors and juniors aged 15-23 was held in Saransk. About 400 athletes from all over the country took part in the competition.
