Ufa will host the Summer Deaflympics Games “We are together. Sport”

On June 15, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a tripartite agreement was signed on holding the Summer Games of Deaflympics in Ufa “We are together. Sport”. The document was signed by the head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, the Minister of Sports of Russia, Oleg Matytsin, and the president of the All-Russian Sports Federation for the Sports of the Deaf, Dmitry Rebrov.
The competition will be held in the Bashkir capital from July 23 to August 2. Athletes will compete for awards in 21 disciplines of deaf sports: shooting, handball, table tennis, swimming, basketball, badminton, volleyball, orienteering, football, tennis, wrestling, taekwondo, karate and others.
The head of Bashkiria noted that it is a great honor for the republic to host such an important and status competition.
– We will do everything necessary to create comfortable conditions for participants and guests, to hold a wonderful sports festival, – he stressed.
Oleg Matytsin noted that Bashkortostan pays great attention to the development of sports and called the republic a “reliable and active partner.”
– I am sure that the Summer Games of Deaflympics will be held in Ufa with great success. Sport is not only about medals. This is the formation of a healthy lifestyle, healthy thinking and a steadily developing country, the Minister of Sports added. – Bashkortostan is a leader in many areas and has long-standing sports traditions.
