Variety has reported that a U.S. court has allowed Alec Baldwin to continue working on Rast despite allegations of involuntary manslaughter of a cinematographer on set. Earlier, Baldwin refused to appear at the hearings and sent a plea to the court not to admit his guilt.
The court allowed the actor to continue shooting in the film “Rast”, but forbade discussing the shooting incident on the set. Baldwin was also allowed to speak to witnesses, including director Joel Souza. Filming will resume in the spring in Montana.
In addition, the court temporarily banned Baldwin from drinking alcohol and owning firearms during the trial.
In October 2021, an accident occurred on the set of the western “Rast”: during a rehearsal, Baldwin fired a pistol loaded with live ammunition, killing cameraman Galina Hutchins, and seriously injuring director Joel Souza. The actor stated that he did not pull the trigger, and the shot occurred spontaneously.
