Two Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers completed a seven-hour flight over the Bering Sea, the Defense Ministry said. The agency clarified that the flight was planned and took place over neutral waters. The missile carriers were escorted by Su-30 fighters of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Eastern Military District.
The Ministry of Defense added that long-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Black and Baltic Seas, and the Pacific Ocean. The Russian military department noted that all flights are carried out in accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.
