Two-time Olympic champion figure skater Oleg Protopopov has died

Russian figure skater Oleg Protopopov, who competed in pairs skating with Lyudmila Belousova, died at the age of 91, reports The Skating Lesson.
Protopopov and Belousova became champions of the Olympic Games in Innsbruck (1964) and Grenoble (1968), and also won victories in many other international competitions. They were the first to perform some elements that later became mandatory.
Belousova passed away in 2017 at the age of 81.
