Two-time Olympic champion, Soviet and Russian hockey player Vyacheslav Fetisov said that he does not consider the statement of SKA representatives about the biased attitude of judges towards army players at the Gagarin Cup games plausible. The words of the hockey player are quoted by the publication “Soviet Sport”.
Fetisov is sure that no one could have given the command to judge SKA in a biased manner. The team is of great importance for St. Petersburg, the city lives by its interests, so hardly anyone could do this, the hockey player explained.
He added that the St. Petersburg team simply lost to Avtomobilist in the playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League.
“I saw all these scoring chances, I can say that Ekaterinburg beat SKA in the series,” – concluded Vyacheslav Fetisov.
Previously head of the Board of Directors of SKA Alexander Medvedev stated about the bias of the referees, because of which the army team was unable to continue the fight for the Gagarin Cup. He noted that throughout the season the referees assessed the game biasedly, missed fouls and sent off SKA players.
