In the Orenburg region, two wooden three-story buildings will be built to test them for fire resistance by fire

Two wooden three-story houses will be built in the Orenburg region in the near future in order to set them on fire and thereby test them for fire resistance, RG reports with reference to the Association of Wooden Housing Construction (ADD).

Now wooden high-rise buildings are allowed to be built, but the walls inside must be covered with non-combustible materials.

This, as the newspaper notes, reduces interest in such buildings: in a wooden house, people want to see a tree around. But with unprotected wooden walls, it was possible to build only buildings of a small area and no more than 2 floors high.

The researchers worked on this problem and found that, subject to certain rules, it is possible to leave wooden walls in taller buildings if special panels are used.

And then it was decided not to be limited to just panels, but also to test insulation, facades, air ducts, engineering networks. For this, all elements of the house were made: internal and external walls, ceilings, and so on.

Their tests confirmed the required fire resistance of structures, including for the construction of facilities up to 28 meters.

Now such buildings themselves will be tested for fire resistance and will work out a fire alarm, an evacuation control system and optimal evacuation routes, adjust the height of buildings so that people have time to run out of them in case of an emergency.
