As a result of the shelling of Donetsk by the Ukrainian army, two people were killed, informed Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
“As a result of shelling by the enemy on the territory of the republic, two people were killed in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. Eight people received injuries of varying severity in Donetsk, Makeevka and Oleksandrivka, including a girl born in 2017. They are provided with all the necessary assistance,” he wrote in his Telegram channel. In addition, three residential buildings and three civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
On June 25, the mayor of Donetsk, Aleksey Kulemzin, said that one person had died as a result of a strike in the city center. In general, the city has been subjected to regular shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for many years.
In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin set the task for the DPR authorities to “make sure that there were no shelling at all” of Donetsk. On June 14, the president, during a conversation with military commanders, allowed the creation of a “sanitary zone” on the territory of Ukraine in the event that shelling of the border regions of Russia continues.
In the fall of 2022, the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions became part of Russia following referendums. Martial law has been introduced in the regions since October 19.
