The Minister of Education and Sports of Karelia Roman Golubev on his VKontakte page said that on August 17, by decree of the President of Russia, coaches Sergei Vorobyov and Yuri Karataev were awarded the titles of Honored Workers of Physical Culture of the Russian Federation.
Sergey Anatolyevich Vorobyov – Honored Coach of the Republic of Karelia, President of the Karelian Regional Athletics Federation. For more than 35 years, Sergey Vorobyov has been working at the Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 3 in Petrozavodsk. His pupils successfully perform at the largest all-Russian tournaments, they have already won hundreds of awards. In addition, Sergey Anatolyevich has been successfully organizing mass sports events for many years.
Yuri Filippovich Karataev started working at the Youth Sports School No. 1 of Petrozavodsk as an artistic gymnastics coach back in 1972, and then he himself became the director of a sports school. Yuri Filippovich led various sports institutions for many years and always paid great attention to improving the conditions for physical education. For 23 years, Yuri Karataev headed the Artistic Gymnastics Federation of Karelia, and now he works as an assistant director of the State Olympic Reserve School in Kondopoga.
Roman Golubev congratulated the outstanding coaches on their well-deserved recognition.
