The governors of two American states promised to send the National Guard to Texas
The governors of the American states of Oklahoma and Florida have announced their readiness to send national guard units to help Texas, which is in conflict with federal authorities amid the situation with illegal migration, RIA Novosti reports.
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has said he will “absolutely” send forces to Texas and is currently in contact with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also announced his readiness to attract National Guard units, and recalled that these forces are not under the control of US President Joe Biden.
On Thursday, Texas authorities announced a migrant “invasion” and began their own response. According to the state governor, the regional authorities will act independently, and the federal authorities are not able to protect the country’s borders. Local National Guardsmen are fortifying the border and preventing federal forces from operating on it. The US administration considers the state’s actions unconstitutional and the measures excessive.
