Twitter will delete accounts of inactive users – Kommersant

Microblogging service Twitter is going to delete user accounts that have been inactive for several years. About it informed social network owner Elon Musk, and also warned that because of this, users could see a decrease in the number of their subscribers.

Deleted accounts will be archived, but Elon Musk did not say exactly how users will be able to access their deleted accounts. According to the user agreement, Twitter accounts must be active once every 30 days to avoid deletion due to inactivity. In April 2022, Twitter launched take away verification checkboxes for non-paid subscribers: according to the new rules of the service, only paid subscribers of Twitter Blue, which costs $8 per month, can receive verification. Also social network launched monetization of user-generated content.
