Microblogging service Twitter plans to add a feature to the platform that will prevent others from mentioning a user’s account. About it informs The Verge, citing insider Jane Manchun Won.
In the new context menu, it will be possible to allow or prevent others from mentioning the user’s account in their tweets, as well as allow mentions for everyone or only for those whom the user follows on the service.
This is not the first time Twitter has allowed restrictions on who can interact with a user’s account. In August 2020 Twitter allowed deprive some users of the right to reply to entries, in October 2021, the service allowed remove followers without blocking, and in May 2022, Twitter introduced the Twitter Circle feature, which allows you to adjust the visibility of tweets for some users.
