According to Similarweb, a research company cited by the TV channel CNBC, the web traffic of the Twitter microblogging network has decreased by 5% in the full two days that have passed since the launch by Meta (recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) of its own social network Threads, which competes with Twitter. The researchers also note that compared to the same days in 2022, Twitter traffic fell by 11%.
Threads was launched in the US last Wednesday. Meta described its product as a “public space” for communities that “have never fully used Twitter.”
Twitter and Meta declined to comment on reports of traffic drops. Today became knownthat the number of Threads users has already grown to 100 million people.
