Twitter users have the opportunity to monetize content. This was announced on his page by the owner of the company Elon Musk.
To connect the function, you need to click on the “Monetization” column in the settings, the businessman explained. Musk noted that users will be able to offer their subscribers an additional subscription to any texts – “from long texts to many hours of video.”
The owner of Twitter clarified that the company will not make money on this feature for the next 12 months. The authors will receive all the money paid by subscribers, with the exception of the commission charged by the App Store and Google Play app stores (we are talking about 30%), and the commission of payment systems.
“After the first year, the commission for iOS and Android will drop to 15%, and we will add a small amount on top of that depending on the volume,” Musk added. He emphasized that users can leave the platform at any time and take their project with them.
Musk officially became the owner of Twitter on October 27, 2022. The social network cost him $44 billion. In addition to Twitter, Musk also owns Tesla and SpaceX.
After closing the deal, the businessman announced a number of changes. In November, he announced that the platform will be able to publish long texts with more than 280 characters. Musk also promised to introduce the monetization of any content.
Earlier today, CNBC cited eToro platform, with which Twitter has partnered, informedthat the social network will be able to trade cryptocurrencies, stocks and other financial assets. According to the channel, the function will also be launched on April 13.
