Journalist from Tver Maria Tetina, who has lived in South Korea for several years, said “MK in Tver” about the progress of voting in the Russian presidential elections in this country.
According to Tetina, in Korea two polling stations were opened for Russian citizens – in Seoul and Busan, and only on one day, March 17. At the moment, the sites are already closed.
She noted that this year for the first time she sees such a rush among compatriots who want to vote, and characterized the situation as follows: “An unprecedented turnout.” According to Tetina, 1,156 Russians came to vote in Seoul, although only 292 people visited the polling station in the last State Duma elections.
The journalist also reported that “at some stage, single pickets began,” but in the end there were no incidents. It is reported that police were on duty at the consular department, and diplomatic mission employees were keeping order inside.
