Danish TV channel TV2 said that at the moment the Danish authorities were faced with an “acute dilemma” because of the desire of Ukraine to get the Caesar howitzers in service with the country.
It is specified that for the newly appointed Minister of Defense of Denmark, Jacob Ellemann-Jensen, the demands of the representatives of Kyiv have become a “headache”, since these systems play a key role in the power of the Danish army. Ukraine, in turn, demands to transfer them free of charge.
“Now there is tension in the ranks of the Danish army because of the possible outcome of this case. Perhaps this case will be the first time that the transfer of weapons to Ukraine will have a negative impact on the defense of our country,” the TV channel noted.
According to the ex-commander of the artillery regiment Torben Dixen Møller, Denmark needs Caesar howitzers, and it will take years to re-equip.
