Yes, he wrote only in Avar, but for the Union, and for the whole world, he was made by excellent poet-translators – Naum Grebnev and Yakov Kozlovsky. Yes, in that famous song he had “horsemen”, and Bernes renamed them “soldiers”. And how it sounded. It still sounds. One of the best songs about the war.

He spoke in aphorisms. And he wrote in aphorisms. And he was a sociable person. And he loved his wife Patimat madly.
