Turkish Interior Ministry: Western closure of embassies in Ankara is a psychological war

The head of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Suleiman Soylu, said during a speech broadcast by the NTV channel that the countries of the West, closing their offices under a far-fetched pretext, are waging a “psychological war” against Turkey. Earlier, the embassies of a number of countries stopped working in the country under the pretext of a terrorist threat, without substantiating, as the minister pointed out, the likelihood of its implementation.
The minister stressed that “none of the countries that openly declared the likelihood of terrorist attacks and named the places of such incidents, did not get in touch with any of the Turkish security agencies.” At the same time, speaking about the reasons for the deployed psychological attack, Soylu pointed to the concern of the EU and the US with Turkey’s desire for independence.
The head of the interior ministry was especially annoyed that the allegations of possible terrorist attacks were launched on the day Ankara announced plans to receive 60 million tourists and generate $46 billion in revenue from this industry.
