The transit of ships through the Turkish Dardanelles has been resumed, the ship traffic control department said. Previously, the flow of traffic was suspended due to heavy fog.
“Navigation has been resumed in normal mode, the fog has cleared,” the Turkish administration said in a statement. Vessel transit was suspended for more than four hours.
Earlier it was reported that over 20 flights were redirected to the new Istanbul airport due to heavy fog. They promised to return to the standard schedule and receive scheduled flights at Sabiha Gokcen Airport in the east of Istanbul at 10 o’clock local time (coincides with Moscow time).
