The head of the Union of Tour Operators of Turkey, Firuz Baglykaya, appealed to the country’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism with a proposal to issue earthquake resistance certificates to hotels.
According to Baglykay, after a series of earthquakes in February, tour operators will be interested in the earthquake resistance of the hotels they send tourists to. It is expected that the corresponding certification will strengthen the credibility of hotels, according to hurriyet.com.tr.
In addition to hotels, it is proposed to issue earthquake resistance certification to restaurants and cafes.
