Turkey names conditions for severing diplomatic relations with Israel

A severance of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Israel is possible, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
At the same time, he noted that for the desired impact, several states will have to make the corresponding decision at once.
According to him, this has been Ankara’s position from the very beginning of the aggravation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The Turkish Foreign Minister noted that severing relations with Israel “will not be a problem” for his country.
“Decisions must be taken simultaneously by many Islamic countries, countries of the world, even in Latin America, so that they are more powerful,” Fidan said.
He called on Islamic countries for mutual support and joint action. Fidan also noted the need to “learn lessons” from previous impasses.
He also noted that Turkey is using diplomacy to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip, but may turn to “other” means if these methods do not work. According to the diplomat, Israel intends to “leave nothing alive in Gaza.” He also noted that Turkey, in turn, refuses to talk about the post-war situation in Gaza until a ceasefire is ensured there.
Earlier, Turkish President Erdogan said that Ankara would initiate the creation of an inspection to verify whether Israel has nuclear weapons, “before it is too late.”
