Turkey agreed to let a Russian tanker with oil through the Bosphorus, it will enter the strait on December 12. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Turkey on Twitter.
“The only oil tanker of the Russian Federation, located in the territorial waters of Turkey, has provided a letter confirming its insurance, and tomorrow it will enter the Bosphorus,” the message says.
They added that there were no other Russian tankers with crude oil in line before the strait.
Recall that Turkey introduced an additional insurance requirement for tankers with crude oil from December 1. Ankara requires a letter from insurance companies confirming the provision of P&I insurance to the vessel. After the entry into force of the innovation off the coast of Turkey formed a traffic jam of tankers.
