Turchak urged the heads of regions to “shake up” their teams

Andrey Turchak, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, complained that the overhaul of schools was not completed on time in all regions or the tender documentation was not posted. He urged the subject heads to “shake up” their teams and “bring them to their senses.”

United Russia and the Ministry of Education today, February 28, held a meeting on the school overhaul program. Mr. Turchak claims that in 2022 the school overhaul program was completed by almost 100%, four schools were not put into operation. In 2023, a major overhaul is planned in 1,527 schools. However, 28 objects have not yet published tender documentation.

“Colleagues, I urge you all once again. We live in a new reality. And the demand from each of us will correspond to this reality. Wartime conditions, if you will. Gather, shake up your regional teams, bring them to their senses, ”— said Andrew Turchak.

He also had to “invite his native region for communication” – the Pskov region, where one school did not manage to carry out a major overhaul on time. “At the last selector at the end of 2022, I didn’t do it. Because both the governor and the team guaranteed that the facility would be put into operation,” recalled the Secretary of the General Council (quoted by RIA Novosti).

In September 2022, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov saidthat 84 schools did not have time to complete the overhaul by the beginning of the school year. President Vladimir Putin instructed to find those responsible for the failure to complete the overhaul. After that, in the Altai Territory and Tuva excited criminal proceedings.
