Andrey Turchak, Secretary of the United Russia General Council, said that the working group on a special military operation headed by him had submitted amendments to the State Duma, according to which monthly payments to combatants in Ukraine would be provided in cash. Now payments are partially provided in the form of social services.

Among other things, participants in a special military operation are provided with free medicines, free travel on suburban trains, and rest in a sanatorium.

“It is possible to transfer the in-kind part of social assistance into real money, but this requires an application to be submitted in advance. In conditions when a person is at the front, this is almost unrealistic. Again, social services are not something that a fighter can use while sitting in a trench, ”wrote Andrei Turchak in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the amendments of the working group suggest that the funds will initially come only in cash. If necessary, a participant in a special operation will be able to apply for benefits by submitting an application to the Social Fund. Andrei Turchak assured that the participants in the hostilities asked for these changes.
