Trutnev advised relocants to return to Russia “quietly” – Kommersant

Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev invited relocants to “quietly” return to Russia and help the country, including in the areas of hostilities with Ukraine. He said this during a conversation with reporters after the government hour at the Federation Council.

“I agree with the general position that since they (relocants – Kommersant) are citizens of Russia, they have the right to return. I would only suggest that they return quietly, work, the main thing is to start right away, we need to help the country, help achieve victory in a special military operation,” said Mr. Trutnev (quoted from “RIA News”).

He added that he has a “very bad attitude” towards relocants who “escaped from their homeland.” “If the homeland is in danger, then in any form, in the one in which you can, you must defend it,” concluded Yuri Trutnev.

Previously, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin statedthat relocants who financed the Armed Forces of Ukraine or criticized Russia may be tried under the article of treason upon returning to the country. Mr. Volodin suggested transporting them to “where there is no summer.”
