Trump says he ‘openly and honestly’ withdrew documents from the White House

Former US President Donald Trump said he removed documents from the White House “openly and honestly”, unlike other politicians. About it writes Business Insider publication, citing Trump’s message on the Truth Social social network.

The Wall Street Journal citing inventory wrotethat the FBI confiscated 11 sets of classified documents from the politician, including those marked “top secret”. Politico wrote that the FBI is investigating Trump for possible violations of the espionage law.

Trump linked the searches in Mar-a-Lago to an attempt to prevent him from running. Democrats “desperately don’t want to see him running for president in 2024,” he said. In addition, the politician said he was ready to voluntarily hand over the seized documents. He added that these materials had already been previously declassified.

November 15 Trump announced on participation in the US presidential election in 2024. Before that, he had already held office from 2017 to 2021. Trump lost the presidential election in 2020, but refused to admit defeat and repeatedly stated that he intended to participate in the next presidential race.
