Trump said he could resolve the conflict in Ukraine in a day

Former US President Donald Trump said that he could have agreed to end hostilities in Ukraine in a day if he had been at the head of the country. He announced this on his social network Truth Social.

“Even now, if I were president [США]I could negotiate the end of this terrible war <...> within 24 hours,” he wrote (quote according to TASS).

The day before, January 26, Trump urged resolve the conflict in Ukraine, noting that “it’s so easy.” Commenting on Washington’s decision to transfer M1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv, the politician said that the supply of military equipment could provoke a nuclear conflict. According to him, after the tanks “there will be nuclear bombs.”

Previously, Trump has repeatedly criticized the actions of the administration of the current US President Joe Biden. In particular, in October 2022 he declaredthat the rhetoric of the American government “forced” Russian President Vladimir Putin to launch a special operation. Trump noted that the conflict in Ukraine would not have happened if he had been at the head of the United States. At the same time, the politician called for the immediate start of peace negotiations.

Before that, about the possibility of ending the conflict in Ukraine in a short time declared Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. In September 2022, he noted that peace could be achieved “in a few days” if Europe wanted to. In October, in an interview with NBC, he said that it was possible to agree on a conflict in a week.
