MFA: Japan freezes assets of Yanukovych’s son

The Japanese Foreign Ministry reported that the authorities had decided to freeze the assets of the son of former Ukrainian President Alexander Yanukovych. Among other things, the assets of representatives of new regions of the Russian Federation and some Ukrainian businessmen will be frozen.
“In relation to 14 persons associated with the annexation of Sevastopol and Crimea by Russia, measures are being introduced to freeze assets,” the diplomatic department added.
It is specified that the sanctions list includes 14 names, including businessman Alexander Yanukovych, who is the eldest son of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. He owns the Gas Ukraine company.
