Trump again called for an end to hostilities in Ukraine

The conflict in Ukraine must end now, US President Donald Trump said in a interview fox news.

“It’s incredible, we (in power. – Approx. ed.) have people who do not know what they are doing. However, if (the conflict. – Ed. note) is not resolved, I will solve it myself – in 24 hours, with Putin and Zelensky. These will be very simple negotiations, but I will not reveal what they will consist of, because in this case I will not be able to carry out my plan. It will never work,” said the former US president (quote according to RIA Novosti).

At the same time, the ex-president admitted that hostilities would continue until 2024, which threatens with further escalation and a world nuclear war, in comparison with which “the First and Second World Wars will seem like pies.”

Trump previously promised to resolve the conflict in Ukraine in a day. To implement his plan, he needs to be the head of state, the ex-president said in early March. “You need this office, this power,” he said. Trump noted that he had a good relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, he warned Moscow about “retaliation” in the event of a conflict with Ukraine.

The ex-president repeatedly condemned actions of the White House. In October 2022, Trump said that the start of the military operation in Ukraine was due to the rhetoric of the current US authorities. According to him, it would not have happened if he had been at the head of the state.

Since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, the parties have held negotiations several times in February and March 2022. The first three face-to-face meetings took place in Belarus in February-March, and the fourth round of the Russian-Ukrainian dialogue was held on March 29 in Istanbul. After that, the process was frozen, since Kyiv withdrew from it.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is open to negotiations. At the same time, Ukraine has a document preventing their resumption. On October 4, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree refusing to negotiate with Russia as long as Vladimir Putin is its president.
