The irreplaceable Troika card is celebrating its anniversary. She earned April 2, 2013 on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Troika is a single carrier that allows you to record subscriptions or pay for travel on all public transport using a pre-replenished Wallet ticket. The convenience of the new method of paying for travel in the subway and land transport was immediately appreciated. In the first week, 200 thousand cards were sold, and after 10 months – a million.
“In 2020 and 2021, our ticket system was recognized as the smartest in the world at international awards,” Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov said.
He clarified that in terms of the growth rate of popularity, the card has overtaken world analogues. Thanks to Troika and the Moscow ticketing system, the city has almost completely got rid of queues at metro ticket offices.
Today, Troika has expanded far beyond Moscow and operates in more than 25 regions of Russia.
“In 2022, we transferred Troika to a Russian chip and were able to maintain all its features for passengers,” Liksutov added.
