Troika card launched in DPR

In Donetsk, payment by Troika card became available on two routes. About it informs press service of the regional Ministry of Transport.
“From August 1, in the capital’s municipal routes No. 2 and No. 17 (“Donelektroavtotrans”), an alternative method of paying for travel in public transport has become available to passengers – using the Troika transport card,” the message says.
Deputy Minister of Transport of the DPR Artem Bafanov said that the next step would be the development of digitalization in the field of public transportation, dispatching, as well as video surveillance systems in transport. According to him, the authorities are already working on these issues. Bafanov added that a schedule for the introduction of Troika on the remaining routes will be created after testing of the new form of payment on two routes is completed.
The Troika card appeared in Moscow in 2013. Then the regions adopted the experience of the new payment method. Today, in addition to Moscow and the Moscow Region, Troika operates in a number of Russian regions, including Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Kursk Regions, Khabarovsk Territory, Karelia, and others.
