On Friday, September 9, the first stone of the second phase of the Datsyuk Arena was laid in Yekaterinburg. The event was attended by President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev, Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev, Head of the capital of the Urals Alexei Orlov and famous hockey player Pavel Datsyuk.
“It will be a unique complex with an ice arena on the second floor. More than 2,700 children will be able to practice various sports in it, – Evgeny Kuyvashev said. – I wished the guys success and victories. I am sure that number 13, under which Pavel Datsyuk played, will be happy for the arena!”
In May of this year, the team from SV “Metal” won the Night Hockey League tournament, which was held in Sochi. In the final, the Ural hockey players defeated the Itil team from Kazan.
After the victory, the Metal team received a grant in the amount of 100 million rubles for the construction of an ice arena. She gave it to Yekaterinburg.
Earlier, MK-Ural reported that in 2019, the Yekaterinburg team “SKON-Ural”, representing the Sverdlovsk Region and Yekaterinburg, won the Night Hockey League. This was already the third victory of Yekaterinburg in the 40+ category.
Earlier, a grant from the NHL was used to build the Datsyuk Arena and the Auto Arena in the capital of the Urals.
