Treadmill competitions were held in the capital of Kalmykia
Kalmykia's track and field athletes competed at the Olympic Hopes tournament.
Republican competitions were held for the seventh time. They were dedicated to the 87th anniversary of the formation of the State Sports Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was also timed to coincide with the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace. About 300 high school and college students competed in six age groups.
The winners and runners-up were determined in the individual competition at distances of 600 and 1000 meters. They were awarded cups, certificates, medals, including awards from the Olympic Council of Kalmykia.
