Transneft: The Czech Republic and Slovakia asked the EU to continue receiving Russian oil

Two EU countries – the Czech Republic and Slovakia – turned to Brussels with a request to continue receiving Russian oil. In Prague and Bratislava they claim that they cannot exist without “black gold” from our country. The head of Transneft, Nikolai Tokarev, stated this on Wednesday, December 20, in his interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“Both the Czech Republic and Slovakia have now turned to Brussels with a request to maintain these volumes of Russian oil supplies, because they really do not have access to the sea, they do not have the opportunity to receive oil from other sources,” he emphasized in a conversation with reporters.

According to Tokarev, the Czech Republic still has the opportunity to receive large volumes of “black gold” from Russia through an oil pipeline from Europe. “But in general, they simply cannot exist without our oil,” the Transneft president is confident.

In addition, according to him, the volume of hydrocarbon exports from Russia to India in 2023 increased to 70 million tons, and to China – to 100 million tons. Tokarev also noted that new directions have emerged for the export of Russian “black gold”.
