The government of Transbaikalia organized an inspection of the cultural center of the village of Kaptsegatuy, Krasnokamensky district, for the promotion of non-traditional values. As Deputy Chairman of the regional government Victoria Bessonova reported on her Telegram channel, local residents complained about the New Year’s performance, where “the role of the Snow Maiden was played by a boy.” “We received an appeal from village residents. We will look into it carefully, all the circumstances of this teenage holiday will be clarified. All the necessary bodies and commissions are working,” Ms. Bessonova commented on the situation.

The text of the appeal, which was distributed by local media, claims that the performance promoted “non-traditional sexual relations.” Village residents demanded that the head of the settlement, Valery Kolobov, and the former head of the village cultural center, Olga Kolobova, be held accountable. Among the addressees of the message are deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Andrei Gurulev and Alexander Khinshtein, governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov, regional prosecutor Alexander Yankovsky, deputies of the regional legislative assembly, as well as the authorities of the Krasnokamensky region.

The acting head of the Krasnokamensky district, Natalya Shcherbakova, scheduled a gathering of residents of the village of Kaptsegatuy for January 19, asking citizens to come to it “to fully understand the situation.”
