Traktor beat the champion for the second time this season

Traktor continued its home series with a match against CSKA Moscow. The game ended with a confident victory for the hosts 3:1. Maxim Shabanov, Sergey Telegin and Vladimir Tkachev scored goals for the Chelyabinsk team. Let us note that Shabanov took part in all of Traktor’s goals.

“Traktor” – CSKA – a classic confrontation dating back to Soviet times. And today such a sign is of great interest in the city. It cannot be said that the current champion arrived in Chelyabinsk as a clear favorite. Still, Sergei Fedorov’s team does not look very powerful this season and is fighting at the same level in the standings as Traktor. Moreover, in Moscow the match remained uncontested for Traktor 4:0. At that time, the team was going through a “flowery-bouquet” period after the appointment of Alexei Zavarukhin as head coach.

The “black and whites” approached the new meeting in decline, not so much in terms of results as in the quality of play. After the defeat to Dynamo, the coaching staff thoroughly restructured the squad. Nikita Podskrebalin took his place in goal, while Sergei Mylnikov, who had recovered from an injury, was in reserve. Another one who returned from the hospital, Artem Blazhievsky, strengthened the third pair of defense, leaving the unsuccessful Madison Baui out of the lineup. The status of the top three returned to Vladimir Tkachev’s line. Nikita Soshnikov was sent to center and revive the combination of Anton Burdasov and Vitaly Kravtsov. The third line turned out to be completely reformed: Semyon Der-Arguchintsev was assigned to the left, Egor Popov to the center, Sergei Kalinin remained to the right. Buddy Robinson went to the fourth combination with Alexander Sharov.

The match started very promisingly for Traktor: Maxim Shabanov stepped up for Sergei Telegin’s shot and opened the scoring in the majority. But the Muscovites almost immediately bounced back: Kirill Dolzhenkov took advantage of the Chelyabinsk team’s mistake in defense.

The second period was remembered for the powerful and accurate throw of Sergei Telegin, this time in equality. We also note Danil Yurtaikin, who created good traffic in the CSKA quarter and prevented the goalkeeper from deflecting the shot. In general, the Chelyabinsk team had the advantage and scored a goal. The guests only occasionally disturbed Nikita Podskrebalin.

In the third period, Traktor completely withstood the tight power game and even surpassed CSKA in it. Buddy Robinson and Ilya Karpukhin performed excellent power moves. Also, an excellent combination of the first line led to a goal by Vladimir Tkachev. Maxim Shabanov took part in it, as in the previous goals.
