Traktor almost beat the leader of the West in Moscow

Traktor continued its away series with a match in Moscow against Dynamo and only lost to the leader of the Western Conference in shootouts. The Chelyabinsk team scored goals from Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, Nikita Soshnikov and Sergei Telegin.

The match was the second for the opponents this season. Earlier in Chelyabinsk, Dynamo confidently won 4:2.

Compared to the victorious last match in Yekaterinburg, the composition of the “black and whites” has changed slightly. The changes affected the fourth line and the goal line. For the first time since October, Vladimir Zharkov took to the ice after recovering from an injury. Maxim Marushev also appeared in the lineup. These players replaced Yegor Popov and Mikhail Kotlyarevsky. Sergei Mylnikov returned to goal, and Zach Fucale remained in reserve.

The first period went according to the “Tractor” drawing. The Chelyabinsk team attacked more and forced Dynamo to retire, but they lacked execution. The most spectacular moment of the first 20 minutes can be called Artem Blazhievsky’s power move.

In the second period, the hosts took the game into their own hands. This was facilitated by Ilya Karpukhin’s mistake in the opponent’s zone, which led to a one-on-one situation and a goal by Nikita Gusev. But in the second half of the period, Traktor regained the initiative and won back the majority. Albert Yarullin made a subtle pass to Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, and the striker only had to put the puck in the goal. In the last minute of the period, the referees gave a dubious five-minute penalty to Chelyabinsk defender Madison Baoui.

In the third twenty minutes the game was fully revealed. Both teams showed their creative capabilities and scored two goals. For Dynamo, Cedric Paquette and Nikita Gusev scored, and for the Chelyabinsk team, Nikita Soshnikov and Sergei Telegin.

In overtime, Sergei Mylnikov pulled out the match for Traktor with two incredible saves. But in the shootout, despite the realized attempts of Maxim Shabanov and Vitaly Kravtsov, the Muscovites still prevailed.
