The head of the Krasnoyarsk district of the Astrakhan region, Ruslan Bisenov, said that a high alert regime was introduced in the district today, September 28. The decision was made, according to Mr. Bisenov, due to the large concentration of motorists, including foreign citizens, near the Karaozek state border checkpoint. The head of the district announced this in “In contact with”.
“The main purpose of introducing a high alert regime is the need to unload the Astrakhan-Krasny Yar highway. Therefore, the district administration is working together with the GKU JSC “Astrakhanavtodor” to organize temporary traffic restrictions and develop a scheme for bypassing non-resident and foreign vehicles. For these categories, travel through the pontoon crossing and inside the village of Krasny Yar will also be limited,” the head of the region wrote.
He added that in the territory near the village of Karaozek, control by law enforcement agencies will be strengthened.
The Karaozek checkpoint is located on the Astrakhan-Atyrau highway (a city in the European part of Kazakhstan). Local media report that after the announcement of partial mobilization, huge traffic jams formed in the Krasnoyarsk region on the border with Kazakhstan.
More information about partial mobilization can be found here.
