The movement of heavy trucks from Vladikavkaz in the direction of the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint along the Georgian Military Road was suspended due to bad weather. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations for North Ossetia.
“The movement of heavy vehicles on the section between the city of Vladikavkaz and the village of Lars in the direction of leaving the Russian Federation is prohibited from 18.45 on January 21, 2024 until further notice,” the statement says. Telegram channel Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It is clarified that the traffic was blocked due to the impossibility of ensuring the safe passage of heavy trucks, taking into account the recommendations of the Georgian border police.
The Georgian Military Road, running through the village of Nizhny Lars and the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint, is the only land route that leads from Russia to Georgia and Armenia.
