Traffic on the M-11 Neva highway has been restored after a massive accident in the Novgorod region, the regional traffic police department reported. According to him, one car remained at the scene as of 6:30.
“58 heavy vehicles, which were unable to turn around, left the traffic jam and continued driving,” the department said in a press release published in Telegram. 68 people and 27 pieces of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the accident.
In the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation addedthat the heating points deployed by the department on the M-11 highway have completed their work.
Massive accident involving about 50 carshappened yesterday, January 8, at the 526th km of the M-11 toll highway. As a result, four people died, including one child, 16 people suffered. TFR excited case under paragraph “c”, part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (performance of work or provision of services that does not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers). The length of the traffic jam on the highway was about 1.5 km. Due to the accident, traffic in the direction of Moscow was blocked.
