Traffic on the damaged part of the Crimean Bridge will resume in the next 7-10 days. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced this after the opening ceremony of a section of the M-12 highway.
“Firstly, the new span has been placed at the marking point, it has already been completely installed. That is, the bridge already exists in fact. Now we will lay asphalt on it, make lighting, make a barrier. A few more days, a week, 10 days, and he will be completely ready. After that, we will launch the restored part,” added the Deputy Prime Minister (quoted from TASS).
According to Mr. Khusnullin, after this the builders will begin restoring the existing part of the Crimean Bridge.
On July 17, after an attack on a bridge, two naval drones were damaged several car spans. Two adults were killed and one child was injured. After the drone attack, traffic on the bridge was introduced in reverse mode: part of the traffic flow was redirected along the land corridor through new regions.
A government commission led by Marat Khusnullin is in charge of eliminating the consequences of the drone attack. Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister reported that the restoration of the bridge is on schedule and will be completed by September 15.
