The head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, told TASS that trade turnover between China and the republic in 2023 will exceed $2 billion. According to him, according to the results of the first half of 2023, the values are already close to $1.5 billion, which is 2.3 times higher than in the same year period of last year.
Mr. Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan also attracts investments from China. Among the Chinese companies successfully operating in the republic, the head of the region noted Haier. According to him, it invested more than 23 billion rubles in Tatarstan. and provided 2.8 thousand new jobs. The region also has investment projects such as Kamastal and Midea.
“In turn, we can say that the presence of a direct flight with China will certainly have a positive effect on increasing the tourist flow and developing business activity,” added Rustam Minnikhanov.
TASS notes that equipment, vehicles and chemical products come from China to Tatarstan. Tatarstan exports rubber, plastics, fuel and agricultural goods.
