Trade turnover between Russia and Kyrgyzstan increased by 40% in six months

The volume of trade between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2022 increased by 40% to $1.4 billion. Exports from Kyrgyzstan to Russia doubled. This was announced by Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The trade turnover between the two countries in 2021 reached record levels, with Russia accounting for 32% of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover.
Mr. Zhaparov also noted the growth of the tourist flow from Russia. According to him, 14 direct flights depart from Russian cities to the Issyk-Kul region a week (in total, 126 flights a week from Kyrgyzstan to Russia). At the end of June, Kyrgyzstan entered the top three countries that Russians chose for summer holidays in 2022.
The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan also expressed gratitude to the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region for helping the citizens of his country, affected in a major accident.
