Trade turnover between Russia and China grew by 40.6% in six months

Trade turnover between Russia and China in the first half of 2023 increased by 40.6% compared to the same period last year, should from the data of the General Administration of Customs of China.

It is specified that in the first six months of 2023, the volume of exports and imports amounted to $114.547 billion. In June, trade turnover exceeded $20.8 billion.

At the same time, since the beginning of the year, China has exported goods to Russia worth about $52.28 billion, which is 78.1% more than in 2022. Imports from Russia to China increased by 19.4% and reached $62.26 billion.

At the same time, China’s trade with its main partner the United States decreased compared to the first half of 2022. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of trade has decreased by 14.5%, to $327.26 billion. During this time, China exported goods to the United States in the amount of $239.35 (-17.9%), and the US to China – in the amount of $87.91 billion (-3.7%).

At the end of May, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin informedthat according to the results of the first quarter of 2023, Russia became the seventh partner of China in terms of trade turnover. The main partner of the PRC is the United States, with which the volume of trade with which at the end of 2022 amounted to $ 759 billion. South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong follow. Turnovers with these jurisdictions are almost identical: they amounted to more than $300 billion with each country in 2022. At the end of last year, the trade turnover between Russia and China amounted to $190 billion.
