“Tractor” will replenish the Canadian shooting guard

Chelyabinsk players signed a contract until the end of the season with 28-year-old defender from Canada Robert Hamilton.

The signing of the defender was commented by the General Director of HC Traktor Ivan Savin to the press service of the club:

– In the person of defender Robert Hamilton, Traktor gets a player who is able to act usefully on someone else’s blue line and reliably in his zone. Our defense just lacked a hockey player with just such a set of skills. Hamilton has spent the last five seasons in the AHL and has come close to 30 points in two of them. Already at the end of this week, he will arrive at the location of the team.

We add that earlier in the course of the season Traktor signed contracts with two foreigners. Canadian goalkeeper Andrew Hammond arrived in Chelyabinsk with a chronic injury and after two unsuccessful appearances on the ice went home. Swedish defender Adam Almqvist, as conceived by Traktor managers, was supposed to take on the role of leading shooting guard after the departure of Nick Baylen, but he failed to cope with this task. Only 2 (1+1) points in 20 matches and regular criticism from experts. The team’s coach Anvar Gatiyatulin noted that Almqvist came to Traktor without a full-fledged pre-season training and he needs time to get in shape. While he remains in the “black and white” and there is no news about his status. Also in the team since last season is the Finnish striker Temu Pulkkinen. Thus, Hamilton becomes the third legionnaire in Traktor with a limit of five foreigners. The club is also looking for a successful striker abroad.

Rob Hamilton is due to join Traktor at the end of this week, which means he can make his debut in Sunday’s match against Spartak.
