“Tractor” started at the Governor’s Cup with a loss on shootouts from “Metallurg”

In Chelyabinsk, the Cup of the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region in hockey has opened. In the opening match of the pre-season tournament, Traktor met with Metallurg Magnitogorsk and lost in a shootout 1:2

Both teams put up lineups for the match that were close to combat. At these late stages of the preseason, coaches are already working out game combinations for the regular season. Place at the gates of “Tractor” was taken by Emil Garipov, and at “Magnitogorsk” – by Vasily Koshechkin.

Before the start of the meeting, the guests and participants of the tournament were greeted by the governor of the Chelyabinsk region Alexei Teksler and the owner of the Stanley Cup 2022 in the Colorado Avalanche, a trainee of Traktor Valery Nichushkin.

In the first period there was an equal game without much advantage of one of the teams. We note the activity of young players in the compositions of both clubs: Metallurg – Danila Yurov, and Traktor – Maxim Shabanov and Mikhail Rolgizer.

At the beginning of the second period, Chelyabinsk defender Ilya Karpukhin made a mistake, taking the puck out of his net, and Anatoly Nikontsev, forward of the guests, opened the scoring in the match. But the main event of the twenty minutes was not a goal, but a fight. After a forceful reception, Ilya Karpukhin went to stand up for his partner and had a classic duel with Josh Curry from Magnitogorsk. Chelyabinsk rehabilitated for the earlier mistake and defeated the Canadian to the delight of the stands.

In the third period, Traktor needed to win back, and the team coped with this task. Two minutes before the end of normal time, Vladimir Tkachev managed to break through Vasily Koshechkin. Note that the same Karpukhin and Mikhail Rolgizer turned out to be assistants.

There were no goals in overtime and the winner had to be determined in a shootout. Magnitogorsk was more fortunate, who realized two of their attempts, and only Nikita Tertyshny scored against Traktor.

A little earlier, within the framework of the tournament, the match “Barys” – “Avtomobilist” took place, in which the team from Kazakhstan won with a score of 2:1. Tomorrow the tournament will continue with the matches Avtomobilist – Metallurg and Traktor – Barys.
