Tangerines on store shelves in Russia contain traces of pesticides, Roskachestvo reports.
Nevertheless, the concentration of nitrates does not exceed the permissible limit, the department noted, despite the fact that the examination confirmed the presence of pesticides in the pulp of all citrus fruits.
In total, Roskachestvo tested tangerines of five brands for the content of 396 common nitrates approved by law.
According to experts, the chemicals contained in tangerines did not exceed the concentration allowed by Russian laws. However, despite the safety of citrus fruits, experts recommend washing them before consuming them.
Earlier, doctors said that 5-6 tangerines is the daily norm for a product. Citrus fruits are advised not to be consumed in one meal, but divided throughout the day.
