Tournament in mixed martial arts will be held in the village of Iskateley

On Sunday, December 18, at 13:00, a mixed martial arts tournament will begin at the Leader Children’s and Youth Center of the village of Iskateley. Fighters of different styles and ages will compete in the competition. Admission is free for spectators, and those who wish to enter the ring can still apply, they are accepted until 12:00 on December 17.
The tournament is the final event of the project “Mixed martial arts MMA – a sport of the strong in spirit and body”, which is implemented by the Federation of Martial Arts of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug with grant support from the Department of Internal Policy of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
To date, about 40 athletes have already applied. Age of participants – from 8 years. Each will hold one fight with an equal opponent, according to the portal of state bodies of the NAO.
— This is a great tournament for getting sports experience. Its beauty is that fighters of various styles will meet in the ring – boxers, wrestlers and others, but they will all compete according to MMA rules. Participants will be divided into equal pairs. As a result of the competition, all participants, regardless of the place taken, will receive medals, – said the head of the Federation of Eastern Martial Arts of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Maxim Sklyarenko.
The project “Mixed martial arts MMA – a sport of the strong in spirit and body” became the winner of the grant competition of the Department of Internal Policy of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug in 2022. The amount of support amounted to 400 thousand rubles. With these funds, the organizers trained the coach and referee, purchased equipment and award paraphernalia, organized training sessions and prepared the tournament.
